I passed (overtook) one of the new orange spreaders last week whilst driving up M1. It wasn't working (probably on delivery).

No... the salt trucks!
Spreading salt in case it gets slippery... and then the sun comes and then you have salt everywhere: On the road (white roads), in the bus (White footprints) and on your car (rust).
