What do you do when your trailer blows over?

The driver continued on his way north to Fife but he was soon stopped by police.
He was given a warning but will not face charges.

What could he do? It was back on its wheels - might as well continue off the bridge.....

Indeed. There is the possibility that his English didn't suffice to translate "Strong Winds Brifge Closed!" or whatever the signs were showing.

How would you show that in International Sign Language?

Sorry! I hadn't seen that. Having hellish computer problems tonight. Couldn't listen to my usual Inet radio station tonight for the first hour and am still 3 mins behind the "live" programme.

It IS a good one that.

On the Forth Bridge I have previously seen the police stopping high-sided vehicles at or near the bridge. I guess the problem very quickly becomes where do you put them all if you don't impose the restriction before a junction where they can be diverted.

I was in Scotland during the recent spate of winds when the bridges were closed and crossed the Friarton Bridge near Perth. The "closed to high-sided vehicles" signage was up but it was right at the start of the bridge so what could anyone do? Continue across of course. I was a little cautious when overtaking one or two of them (meaning I didn't want to)
