Smile Should get on with it.

Hello all, I've been visiting this site for some time now and every time I open it up there's a little box asking me to say hello and I never have so hello from the land down under.

Welcome, auh91a.

Tell us something about your interests and experiences and we will respond.

I'm a retired vehicle engineer and particularly like older vehicles, especially big ones and off-road ones.

Born & bred on Tyneside been living in Australia for nearly 50 years so I'm not in the first blush of youth that's for sure. From about 1962 to 1964 I drove for Powell Products of Low Fell delivering jam and vinegar around Yorkshire, Cumbria and the lowlands of Scotland. Drove a coach for a while in Australia a 692 turbo charged GM in a Denning body now run a very small company marketing water bore cleaning products hoping to retire this year.

I was excited when I heard the Detroit engine sound from the back of the tour buses in Sydney NSW in the 1980s. It was an unmistakable sound to me as I was familiar with the Detroit engines (I was a trained engineer in their maintenance in the 1970s), but I'd only driven them in trucks.

You must have gone over to Aus around the same time as my Uncle John Munslow then!

A very warm welcome from the sunny Isle of Anglesey.

Thank you all for the kind welcome, don't know your uncle though Coastie it's a big country. For G-CPTN, the Denning I drove was pretty fast and when the authorities introduced tachographs for coaches it pegged me back a few knots I can tell you!
