Hi everyone my name is Kev

I work as an area sales manager now after spending most of my working life on the road and best part of that on the continent.
my interest is my Volvo F16 Globetrotter that I am spending the next 3 years renovating while enjoying it and taking it to a few truck shows, and my car a Jaguar S Type R both of these keep me pretty busy.

Welcome, Kev, and I look forward to seeing photographs of you F16 (with the Jag in the background - to comply with forum rules!).

Looking at the photograph of your F16 (and the Norwegian website of 70s and 80s trucks) I was aware that it isn't that long ago (at least it doesn't seem so) that 7 litres was the norm, now we have 16 litres (an have had for some time).

Where will it end? Will we get 20 or even 24 litre engines at any time soon?

I'm talking about 'line trucks' rather than dedicated heavy-haul, but maybe the F16 was originally conceived for heavy-haul? Certainly, the first one in the UK (that I had to 'certify' for use because of the torque-convertor transmission) was a 100 tonner that was destined for heavy-haul.

Maybe we could have a thread about engine size?
