Motorway speed limit set to rise in 2013.

The UK Department of Transport is launching a consultation with the objective of raising the speed limit on motorways from 70mph to 80mph by 2013.

So that means everyone will just nudge their average speed up from 90 to 100?

100mph is still an instant ban for 12 months not alot in it if your average is between 85 and 95.

but more importantly does that mean for safety sake the HVG trucks can do 72?? as hitting a truck at 56 mph from 90 isnt going to be a good outcome. i mean its going to be passed standing still if everyones on average 90 mph
