Danny Connolly.

Would it be possible that any of our members in Ulster could find out for me or know what has happened to Danny Connolly and Sons Transport Culduff Ballymoney, I havent seen any of their vehicles for months now. I worked for them in the 70s, I think maybe they have been taken over by one of the other big companies like Montgomeries or O`reileys. I have looked on Google but to no avail. I would appreciate any help, Many thanks.

Connolly Transport. Ballymoney

From 2005 - Montgomery Group bought Connolly Transport, the Ballymoney based reefer specialists. Connolly's will now become part of Montgomery's Refrigerated Division.

Thank you very much Western SMT for this reply, it is much appreciated. We used to do some work for Montgomerys in the 70s but it is still a surprise to me. Danny Connolly started off in business selling ice cream from a little van and then he bought an Atkinson unit and started his haulage company, I first got to know him when he came to Crown Paints in Darwen to see if we had anything to go back to N. Ireland we said yes and the rest is history. He had four sons the eldest was Clifford then David, Alan and Gary. I went to work for him in 1976 based here in England and loved every minute, he was a great man and was very generous.

Thank you again for your help, all the best.
