Wereabouts of foden

My father in law ran a eight wheeler foden for ARC but unfortunately got a lot of bother with ARC and had to get rid of the vehicle.Does anyone know where the Foden is now its Reg is F625CAW he would love to know if it survives.

According to the DVLA the tax disc ran out on 01.06.2008 and it was red. That doesn't mean it has been scrapped. Just that it is not currently taxed.

The vehicle F625 CAW, is a 1988 Foden (Tipper), so it's still in the UK registration database.

If you write to the DVLA and explain your story they should forward your details to the current registered keeper.

Indeed there is.

The fee for vehicle keeper information at a specific date of event is £2.50. If further information is required eg a copy of a document or additional keeper information, a fee of £5.00 is required per vehicle.

Parking management companies use the system to 'track down' those overstaying their allotted time in supermarket carparks.

Requests for personal information about another vehicle’s keeper; information about previous keepers for a vehicle now registered in your name; or for information held about you on the Agency’s registers, should be made by post.Requests for personal information about previous and current keeper details, or information about yourself should be made by post.

Whilst the data protection aspect has resulted in strict guidelines as to who is entitled to the details of the current keeper, a request to forward a letter to the keeper might be met with sympathy given the circumstances.

You can obtain the name and address of the registered keeper of another vehicle if you can demonstrate ‘reasonable cause’ for needing the information. Before information is released the DVLA must consider the reasons for your request and how the information will be used.

I would write a letter (to the keeper) then include it in an unsealed stamped envelope together with a covering letter to DVLA.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You could include a cheque (made out to DVLA) for £5 to cover any possible fee . . .

Good advice. I think the DVLA will forward requests to the currant owner on request.
