First of all you can forget the Detroit Diesel engines, as, although they were used in later TKs this was as a spin-off from their use in Australia and New Zealand as well as from the larger TM range.
From the earliest TKs the smaller ones were powered by Bedford 6 cylinder 300 cu in petrol or 4 cylinder 220 cu in diesels or 6 cylinder 330 cu in diesels (all Bedford designs)- the earlier TAs and TDs probably had a 200 cu in diesel.

When Bedford wanted a larger diesel engine to power heavier trucks and coaches they used the Leyland 400 cu in diesel engine until the Bedford 466 cu in engine was designed and built, so it might well be the Leyland 400 engine . . .

The use of Leyland engine was mainly before my time, so definitely before the time of any current Vauxhall employees - and the records are probably no longer available, bearing in mind the demise of Bedford was more than 30 years ago.

Apart from that there were some Perkins 4/99 and 4/108 diesel engines used in the vans but not, as far as I know, in the trucks.

Of course, as many Bedford trucks were assembled 'locally' from kits of chassis and body parts shipped 'Completely Knocked Down' (or CKD), then it is possible that locally sourced power plants might have been fitted (which was how the Australian 'mongrels' evolved).
