This is a bit of a cheek, but....
This is a bit of a cheek, but I'm getting desperate.
I have a 1951 Lanchester car fitted with a Wilson pre-select gearbox that has a problem.
I have asked on several historic car sites over the past year but no one has been able to help, so in desperation I had the bright idea of coming here, as I know some buses were fitted with similar gearboxes.
The problem is that the box won't change down from 4th to 3rd. It changes fine going up, and changes from 3rd down ok.
If anyone can shed a light on why this should be I would be eternally grateful.
