I used to drive a 2 stroke commer in early 60s. think they were made by Rootes.
They had a factory in Dunstable, Beds. The body was wider than the cab.
The air-brakes were nothing but trouble, some times they were as they should be, and sometimes they took a lot longer to stop you. Had a few near misses.
Had them checked three time over two years at Rootes of Dunstable and they said
they could'nt find anything wrong with them. Other than the brakes, I did'nt find them to bad to drive.
