Welcome to T&B Forum, TARMACBOB.

I look forward to reading your messages and seeing your photographs.

Are you an owner-driver?

A warm welcome from the usually sunny Isle of Anglesey, Tarmacbob.

I also like Thames Traders (and 400e's) but have never seen inside one, let alone been inside one!

Hello and welcome aboard Bob, my1st lorry was a 6 wheeler Thames Trader flatback, I never actually drove it, I was a mate, and we went to Glasgow ex Halifax with a load of silicates in 45 gallon drums, all the way on the old roads, it belonged to a company called Wm. Aske of Water Lane in Halifax, and was battleship grey in colour, stick some pics on and we can all have a ganders mate.
Take it easy. :) Alex ....www.truckcentral.co.uk

Youngsters today wuddn't believe what used to happen.

Lorries towing drawbar trailers had to have a second man to apply the trailer brakes or place a chock behind a wheel (and were restricted to 20mph).

Greetings TarmacBob, from another Robert.

I used to, regularly, deliver to the Sainsbury's depot in Charlton. I quite often parked in Willoughby Way, behind Matalan.
Nowadays, I'm like a black cab driver, I don't go south of the river. However, I do get down to the quayside at Purfleet. Last time I was down there I got stopped, for a routine check, by the VOSA men.

Hi Robert, the site at Sainsbury is now a building site. Barry
