Truck Sat Nav

Hi Guys

I have been looking for a new truck Sat Nav, I have tried to get an upgrade for my current sat nav but to no avail. I can afford a massive out lay if its basicly the same as what i have.

I suppose my first question is
1, Are they any good?
2, Which model should I be looking at?

I have seen them starting at £190 up to £420 and I like the one below, but its a big price and is it worth it.

Are they any good or is there a better one, sorry for all the question but money is tight.

Cheers
Ady

First welcome to the forum, my only experiance with satnav is a built in one in my car, which I don't have 100% faith in, I still prefer a map.

Get a smartphone (iPhone maybe?) and get the satnav application!

You can obtain maps with low bridges shown

True enough, Ian. You can also buy maps with weight and width limits on them but they only show them for the more important roads. From experience (14'2" trailer. 13'7" bridge) I know there are more low bridges in Manchester than my map book shows.
I know one driver who has a top of the range truck sat-nav and he swears by it. I will be buying one, when the current one dies or, I win some money. For now though, cheap Tom-Tom (onto which I have downloaded 2 lots of bridge height POI.), bridge heights map and 30+ years of experience will have to do.
