Hello, Christmas greetings from Norwich
Hello, I am recently retired so now have a lot more time to indulge in my hobbies, which at the moment means model making as the weather is rather restricting my cycling!
I have always been interested in most branches of transport history, be it on land or in the air. One of the reasons for joining this excellent forum is to ask where the best place will be to find information about a Bedford VAL twin steer that we converted and used as a racing car transporter in the mid 1970s, but I will post in the appropriate place. Regards, Lloyd |
A warm welcome from all the Staff at Truck & Bus Forum, please feel free to join in with photos, comments and questions, I am sure your question on Bedford Val twin streer will be answered.

A very warm welcome from the usually sunny Isle of Anglesey, Lloyd!

Welcome from the north of Scotland Lloyd :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody, I am sure I will enjoy it here.
Regards, Lloyd |
I worked with Bedford VALs - as test vehicles, so if there are any questions just ask.
I cannot guarantee that I can remember everything, though - it was a long time ago! Welcome to Bus and Truck (or have I got this the wrong way round?) I look forward to reading more of your stories. Who did the transporter belong to? |
Hi G-CPTN (Aircraft Captain?).
The company was Arian Racing and that coach usually carried a group 2 Mazda RX3 in the European Touring Car Championship. We also had an older, and smaller coach that we used for the domestic group 1 series. This was a Bedford Duple with an oval grille. Regards, Lloyd |
Hello Lloyd and welcome to the forum, enjoy and all the best.
|
I'd guess the smaller Bedford would be a model SB (or even a VAS if smaller still).
