History and restoration of a Dodge VK62B
http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodgehistory.htm The Dodge restoration http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodgerestoration.htm At the bottom of the above link you can click on any stage of the restoration but unfortunately it seems an unfinished story. |
Hi,
I was interested to find this forum, and reference to my old lorry. Fear not, the restoration is very much continuing, I hope to pop an update on the site shortly. The latest one covers work done during April/May 2010 http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodge...estoration.htm If anyone can help with sourcing either old photos of this lorry, or ones like it during WW2, it'd be great to hear from you. rgds, Rick :) |
Hi, Rick (and welcome!) - I enjoyed reading about the history when the topic first appeared here.
I congratulate you on your patience and ability to do a worthwhile restoration. I agree that preparation is worth much more than extra coats of paint when producing a quality finish. I look forward to seeing photographs of the finished vehicle. |
VK62B update
Hello again,
Just thought I'd post a quick update. There are still a few outstanding jobs to do on the Dodge, and minor setup work, but it's coming along quite well. I took it to a local show recently, some photos can be found on my site: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/dodge...dodge-show.htm rgds Richard |
