Whos silly idea is this?
I would rather get there on a bus than sit on a train for a hour!!!!

The drawback about using buses is that they take indirect routes between stations and the journey times are longer (and get progressively extended as the journey progresses). A half hour train journey soon becomes an hour and an hour's journey more than two hours.
