Rechargeables for cameras.

I received some Energiser 2450mAh AA batteries (together with a dedicated charger).
They have been charging for ten hours now (at 280 mA).
As the charger is consuming 7 watts, how much is it costing?

(I know we have an electrician in our midst.)

Do any of you use rechargeables and how long do they take to recharge?

My other rechargeables are just 850mAh (for my pocket radio) and they don't take as long . . .

Ten hours? That seems awfully long, I have a charger which can tell which type of battery it is (Lithium, etc) and set the charging time accordingly and they usually only charge for about 6 hours. The batteries are also Ever Ready Energiser 2450 batteries.

I have an Energizer charger (model CHCC-UK) and 4 Energizer 2450 m/ah AA batteries, these were bought together and charge time is around 8 hours.
The LED lights on the charger will come on when charging (batteries right way round and seated correctly) and LED lights go out when job done.
Reading the small print on the instructions it says input 100-240v 50/60hz 5 watt.
