Driving licence

Can anyone answer my question about my driving licience ? I have the following categories B,BE,C1,C1E,D1,D1E and fklnp - but as I'm now retired I did not bother to have a medical this year when it had to be renewed. But I also needed to update my picture and my new licence has come back with these categories still on it. It also has the following codes after some of them 107,101 and 119. I am a volunteer mini-bus driver for a local old peoples club - as it's only a 12 seater this is not a problem. But people have in the past asked me drive bigger buses and the odd LGV - again as a volunteer and I have had to say no, thinking I no longer had a licence. But am I correct in thinking I can drive them as long as it's not for hire or reward ?

Strangely enough, there was a query in a magazine in the library (Sorry Motorway Services shop:D) recently. THe chap was asking about "code 101" on his licence and the answer given was, that it meant "Not for Hire or Reward."

Thanks for that - I have looked at the DVLA web-site and asked around but it seems a very grey area.

Dont know what age you are but I work with a guy who is 67 years and he can continue to drive until 70 health being achieable with the licence he has held for the past canteen years which entitles him to drive upto 7.5tonne but on reaching his 70th years his licence wiil revert to a basic todays driving licence which eliminates him driving any vehicle above 3.5 tonnes
