Ice Road Truckers - New Season

Just to let you guys know, the History Chanell started its series of Ice Road Truckers tonight. Some of the old drivers along with some new faces are back and out to conquer the frozen roads of Alaska. Most of the running is done on the James Dalton Highway which runs north from Fairbanks up to Purdhoe Bay right up in the Arctic. A couple of new routes are being added this season. While some may think this is a bit of fantasy driving done by a hand full for TV, you have to remember that up to 600 other drivers will do this run for 90 days carrying millions of pounds of cargo north while the land is covered in ice. Met a number of guys who did this run while on my travels in the US of A. Not for me I'm afraid, too damn cold.
Cheers Pat.

Is this the time of year that they operate? I would have thought it would have had to be deep winter - ie December to March.

Morning G-CPTN,
I think you are correct. The series has been shown already on the other side of the big pond.
Cheers Pat.
