Lithuania
On Monday just gone I overtook a car transporter carrying new Peugeot cars.
The truck was registered in Lithuania, implying that the load was being trucked from there or thereabouts. http://www.psa-peugeot-citroen.com/e...p/sites_b4.php I wonder what other long-haul overland vehicle deliveries are being made? Do these transporters get back-loads? |
Studying the above link I cannot identify a manufacturing or assembly plant that would be considered to be within easy reach of Lithuania . . .
|
Is it possible he's got multiple loads within and around Europe i.e. not necessariliy carting those Peugeot all the way from Lithuania?
|
Either that or the truck is registered in Lithuania, but the driver lives somwhere near a Peugeot factory maybe??
There used to be, I don't know if there still is, a Holyhead driver who drives/drove for an Irish Company and often the truck would be seen parked outside his house not far away from my house. |
There used to be a lot of Irish lorries in and around Holyhead, all the same company, but now you've brought it up not seen the company in a while.
Andy. |
One of the drivers used to park in Maeshyfryd Road.

The rules on "cabotage" have been changed. It is possible that the driver had done a delivery to/near the Peugeot factory and reloaded for England. Once tipped in England, he might reload Vauxhalls frome Ellesmere Port for Germany. From there, BMW/Merc./Audi/whatever to wherever. Until he gets home in time for Christmas.
