Upgrading Truck Safety

I heard some of the truck companies are considering upgrading their management system. Here’s the news about the safety technology for your reference.

Con-way Truckload is investing $2 million in three state-of-the-art safety technology systems for all 525 of the company’s new tractors. The new systems includes compulsory skills testing and remedial training, continuing education, personal safety plans, and financial incentives to achieve safe-driving performance goals.
Con-way Truckload’s president Saul Gonzalez says, “The new systems add ‘sense and respond’ technologies in the cab that enhance driver skills. The systems provide early-warning alerts as well as proactive intervention that will enable significant reduction of the most common highway safety incidents in which trucks are involved. We already believe we have the safest drivers on the road. These systems will serve to supplement our drivers’ skills and good habits, and help us contribute to safer roadways for all who travel them.”
After Gonzales’s talk, there’s some positive responses from the truck drivers. They think the system makes them become better driver. Also I found a case study about the truck technology, they seems do the same thing as Con-way Truckload did.
