Cumbria`s passed hauliers 1960

Cumbrian hauliers which are no more, companies such as H&L, Johnstone Bros,(remember old Hector) Watts of Carlisle, Story`s of Kirkbride, Willy Borthwick, Pop Carrs, Greggains, BRS, Geo Hayton,Robsons of Carlisle, to name but a few, do any more come to mind?

Yes, but I can't remember their name. The yard was (if memory serves) on the A590. The village began with L. (Lindale?) You turned right at a roundabout and it was part way up a longish hill. Not sure if you could access it directly from A590 or if you went into the village. It was certainly visible on the left side as you climbed.

Wasn't there another, biggish haulier, in Barrow who got squeezed out by the firm from Carlisle?

Pickthall's of Cleator Moor. Their brown pantechnicans with a red logo were commonplace in West Cumbria in the 60's and 70's.
