There was something happened on the A55 at Penmaenmawr yesterday too. They were clearing away when I was coming back from Hollywell yesterday afternoon.

The tractor this morning Chris, was spread all over the road.

Oh h*ll. Lets hope the head injury isn't too bad.

I don't suppose tractors are fitted with airbags?
Do they need seatbelts? Are these just lapbelts?

None of the tractors I have been on have had belts.

There were a few around on the A55 when I went to Holywell yesterday.

Well this accident renforces my opinion that tractors should not be allowed to travel on fast duel carriageways.
I hope the driver makes a speedy recovery.

There is a restriction on 'JCBs' and the like using the Newcastle/Gateshead Western Bypass during 'commuting hours' (I forget the details).
This was done because of the inevitable delays that ensued each day as these contractors used the by-pass to travel to and from their place of work -usually when everyone else was doing the same (as well as the A1 traffic of course).

I agree wholeheartedly, especially as the tractor drivers can still use the A5 across the Isle.
