Hi, how long before the Terrorist organisations infiltrated or even, openly bought, the data company.

I mean it. The powers that be in this country, with their hands tied by shyster lawyers, both in government and in their independent capacity, would stand by and let them buy our most vital security cordons. They have sold off our Gas, Electricity and water operations to foreigners, as three examples, and anyone who does not realise how vital those are to our security, needs to think on.

Oh for the days when I naively believed that the politicians and lawyers in this country of ours, were honest and without corruption, that it was something that happened in other countries.

If they did not give themselves the protection they do, most would have been inside years ago, not just the few, who became an embarrassement and were dropped by the rat pack.

I fear for the younger generation, that they will experience anarchy and
breakdown in civilisation, such as is hard to imagine. I do hope I am wrong.

Be aware that Yahoo is now using "Web Beacons" to track every Yahoo Group user. It's similar to cookies, but allows Yahoo to record every website and every group you visit, even when you're not connected to Yahoo. Look at their updated privacy statement at

About half-way down the page, in the section on *cookies*, you will see a link that says *WEB BEACONS*.

Click on the phrase "Web Beacons." On the page that opens, on the left find a box entitled "Opt-Out."

In that section find "opt-out of interest-matched advertising" link that will let you "opt-out" of their snooping. Click it and then click the opt-out button on the next page.

Note that Yahoo's invasion of your privacy - and your ability to opt-out of it - is not user-specific. It is MACHINE specific. That means you will have to opt-out on every computer (and browser) you use.

Alternatively you can go to NAI (Network Advertising Initiative), and opt out of upto 25 different Web Beacon systems (including Yahoo and Google) at http://networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp

The DVLA have been selling your driver details for years to anyone with £2.50 to spare, the Scottish National Party used a Freedom of Information request to discover the DVLA has sold 5.3m driver records since 2002/2003 when it was first allowed to sell the data.

They accused the DVLA of failing to check up on the companies it sells the records to and demanded a government review of the practice. Private firms with "reasonable cause" can buy individual records for £2.50 each. If you want more than who the keeper of a vehicle was at a specific time - like a copy of documents or extra information about the vehicle's keeper - the DVLA will charge you £5.

Indeed, our local Tesco store operates a 3-hour limit on parking monitored by CCTV and ANPR ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automat...te_recognition ). They get your details from DVLA and send you a £70 'fine' (or parking charge) if they record you leaving more than 3 hours after you arrived (even if you have been 'away' in between!). I haven't discovered when they reset the clock . . .
