Tomorrow May 18 sees the start of Norfolkline's new ferry Sea Viking from Zeebrugge to Rosyth, this will surely save lengthy road trips to southern ports.

Scottish Viking will reinstate Scotland’s only Continental ferry link, conducting three sailings a week each way, just seven months since the previous service ceased operation.

Scottish Viking comprises 107 spacious cabins and 57 Pullman reclining seats. Cabins are arranged as 52 four-berth inside cabins; 45 four-berth outside cabins; plus two two-berth accessible cabins for passengers with disabilities.

Norfolkline will conduct three sailings a week each way. Departures from Rosyth will be at 17:00GMT on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving Zeebrugge at 14:00 local time next day. The service returns from Zeebrugge on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 18:00CET, arriving in Rosyth at 13:00 local time.

A replacement officer was flown in by private jet from Italy as Scottish Viking was built in an Italian shipyard and registered in Italy and flag regulations state that the captain must be an Italian national.
