Help needed in finding a Number plates history.

Hi all,
My Dad has a Ford Anglia 105e, which was 1st registered in 1961, as WRC751. In 1987, the original numberplate was sold, and another was issued to the car.
I know this forum is for buses and trucks, but bear with me please...

The WRC751, plate went onto a bus, according to a change of reg document we got with the car,
' Previous reg of receiving vehicle, FCP311W
Make: leyland bus,
operated by Gath, Dewsbury.
I have traced this bus, All I know is it was rebodied in Aug, 1980.
BNC612C before rebody.
Chassis: LD PSU3/3R L22498
Seating: C53R
Body: 033/5183.

This is all numbers to me, i would like to find pictures of this exact bus, before and after rebodying if possible. Or what type, google images shows up all sorts of stuff.:confused:

WRC751 has also been on other coaches.

Leyland tiger, (TRC/TL11/2R)Duple Dominant IV body, New to London Country, and 1st registered as YPD108Y. Owned by delaine, and grays. This was owned by Stanley Gath, 1996-1999. Presumably with WRC plates. Last owners, bennetts, and as YPD108Y.

Bedford YMP / Plaxton. PN869.5MQP2COO8, BD YMP GT 104233.
1ST registered to Angel N15, As C337UFP. Also used JIL6316, C535DWW, SIL5978, WRC751, currently using C594GVU. Was last owned by Baldrys, now in St Helens. Was this once owned by Stanley Gath, when? Who else has owned this Coach?
Any Pics with WRC?

Currently on Iveco Eurorider, 391e. Former keeper was Pagan, Hounslow. Anyone heard of them? Presently WRC751, owned by Festival Travel, in Scotland.
Been in touch, he bought: ' an old Volvo Coach from Dewsbury, with Stanley Gath on it.'

So, it has been on at least 5 coaches, were there any more.

It appears Stanley Gath got the number 1st after Dads Anglia. Then kept it until their demise when Tates Travel bought them out. Been in touch with tates, and... no records were kept.:mad:
Was it only Stanley Gath that used it?

Does anyone have any pictures of any of the coaches, especially with the WRC751 plate on.
Any other info, including dates of ownership would be great.

Firstly, Stu105e, welcome to Truck and Bus from a usually sunny, but currently very windy Isle of Anglesey.

Yeah i have seen the 1st 3 pics. I have no idea why the H540 YCX has shown up, was it associated with the number at sometimeor Is it one of Stanley Gath's. What search was done to find that 1. What type of coach was FCP311W, the 1st to receive the number.

I 'simply' entered the registration WRC 751 into Googoo Image and it was one of the images that came up. Things got complicated when I couldn't find it in the database where it was suggested to be, but, but enlarged the picture I identified the registration and used that to carry out a further search.

What is the likelyhood that anyone will have photo's of Stanley Gath coaches. esp WRC751.

What work did they do, holidays etc, or local stuff like kids school buses and trips to the baths etc?

I have done Google and flickr searches, but not many photos of what appears to be a large company with much varied fleet.

I wonder if the number meant something to the owners of the company, for them to keep re-issuing it on several coaches, and only letting it go upon their closure.

If he was a Yorkshire man, it's quite possible he didn't want to change the service board, every time a reg. was added or removed, from the fleet. Easier to to kee re-using the same numbers.

P.S. Don't ask me the definition of a Yorkshire man.

The primary advantage of a registration like that is that it disguises the age of the vehicle, which is why some operators choose Irish registrations.

Once they had acquired it they only had to pay the transfer fee rather than having to buy another from a dealer and pay his fees as well.

Good idea, makes sense. just thinking, how many people (Not us enthusiasts) look at the reg of a bus to take us somewhere. If a coach get us there, looks smart and tidy its good, no further thoughts, if its old rattly, leaky, breaks down, battered and bruised and generally looking sorry for itself the public will notice. An undated plate could make a 5 year old bus appear new if its been well treated, of older if neglected.

I too am a yorkshire lad, although born in Middlesbrough, but lived in a north Yorkshire Village all my life. Even got my fiancee to move from the smog(Middlesbrough) to the country, (Didn't tell her there was a dairy farm at the end of our street. She likes seeing the cows now.)

I see you live in Cleverland - I remember when it was the North Riding (of Yorkshire).

My parents settled in Guisborough when they were first married (although they later moved to Tyneside).

Guisborough is the next place to us, we live in Skelton. There is an old sign, black and white pole, cast circle on top that says north riding of Yorkshire. I am proud to live inside this boundary line.

Between Guisborough and Whitby, in the 1950s there used to be a gateway with a kennel where a sheepdog was housed to stop the sheep from wandering along the A171 road from one piece of the moor to the next.
After many years they installed a cattle grid . . .

Ha ha. i like stories like that. Little snippets of memories, small things that we notice we remember. On a drive near egton bridge one summer evening we saw sheep being herded down the lane past our car. the collie jumped up at the window. No idea where it was, retraced our trip, but never seem to find it.

is there any way i can trace the history of the 1st bus that got WRC reg. according to bus list on the web(?) FCP311W was rebodied from BNC612C. I can't find anything at all about this. my 1st post on this thread i gave its chassis details, but i don't know if they refer to it before or after rebody. NC, denoted manchester reg, but i cant find any info of anything with similar reg, if it was a fleet order when new. I would like to know what it looked like, when i put the numbers into flickr or googlie it shows all sorts of stuff. Alexandered bodies, service buses, and coaches. I'm a novice, so easily puzzled.
