How do...

Hello, stumbled across this site more by accident than design really!
Names Chris, I'm 30 and a bus driver from Bristol thats been restoring cars (mainly Citroëns), buses and lorries for a fair few years.

My current project is an Ex-Badgerline Dennis Lance of 1993 vintage. No one liked them, no one at all, but they were always my fave drive in work, and this one was my ultimate favourite..

erm, it's a bit of a mess at the moment...

Welcome to you, docchevron - I hope you'll find this place to your liking.
Pull up a floorboard and sit down . . .

Brave man (restoring Citroens)!

I wish you luck with the Dennis Lance project, and may it bring you great pleasure.

Being a Citroen CX fan (Also called Chris.), I'd like to welcome you from the Sunny Isle of Anglesey. I hope you enjoy all that goes on here complete with the banter!

Morning Chris and welcome to the forum, good luck with your restorations and enjoy the forum, all the best.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

There's a couple of CX's in our little group, a 22TRS and a GTi Turbo, but I'm more a BX man myself.. up to 9 of them at the moment..

How do I get a picture to display in thread instead of showing a link?

G-CPTN 28th March 2010 21:15

Open square bracket - 'I' 'M' 'G' - close square bracket
'the URL of the jpg'
Open square bracket - '/' 'I' 'M' 'G' - close square bracket

(no spaces or quotation marks).

I had a 2.4 super which later, with the help of a good friend of mine, morphed into a 2.4 GTI.

I saw a silver GTI Turbo when I was in Poland in 2000 and almost brought it home except that I could never find the garage open!:)

Im an AX man myself iv'e got a 1993 model + loads of spares if you need anything

coastie 28th March 2010 23:46

I liked the BX as well and drove one for a time, it was typically Citroen quirky with the none self cancelling indicators. Some people used to hate that, but I got into the habit of automatically switching them off as my hands came back past the switch after the turn.

Maybe we should have a Citroen Forum!!:D:D

G-CPTN 29th March 2010 00:15

Isn't Citron the word for a lemon?

coastie 29th March 2010 00:20

:D:D:D:D I see where you're going with this, G-CPTN!!:D

G-CPTN 29th March 2010 00:36

:D

docchevron 29th March 2010 19:02

I'm a member of a few Citroen related forums, I'm an admin on one aswell, hence I know I sounded a tad dumb asking about the picture, but I have inserted the [IMG] code correctley... odd!

Oh well..

Anyway, for anyone interested in largely BX fora then there's
www.bxclub.co.uk/forum
www.bx16valve.co.uk/forum

or the best one (although it's for adults only with humour and language that goes with it!) www.bxproject.co.uk/forum
unless you're a member you can't see a lot of it, but you'll get the idea!

If anyones interested I'll do a thread about the bus at some point, and maybe one for my ambulance, and possibly one for the Leyland Roadtrain and Buffalo, if I ever get around to them!

G-CPTN 29th March 2010 19:17

Anything to do with trucks, buses or commercial vehicles and equipment is welcome here . . .

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

You're not wrong actually!
Andre's parents, or grand parents or something were fruit sellers, back in the day when second names weren't common place, so they chose Citron as a name, only added the ë to sound a bit posher I guess, so they became Citroën, and Andre being not at all self important named his company after himself!

G-CPTN 29th March 2010 21:46

I didn't know that!

It's amazing what can be learned from other members on here . . .

docchevron 29th March 2010 23:46

Yeah.. direct from the school of "should really get out more" I guess!
Although Andre was a rather interesting bloke, and was full of good idea's about making money, so quite why Citroën never made it on thier own I dont know really..

NO!!!

I once had the self cancelling function break. I actually prefered it after a while.
