Keeping the turbo means fabricating a new exhaust etc

The changes needed to get the engine running satisfactorily without the turbo will probably outweigh the manufacture of a new exhaust.

Can you not source and exhaust from the same source as the engine? (or another scrappie)

Does anyone one here have a good comlete Bedford 500 non Turbo for sale ?

Shame we're not in the same country. I'd swap you a 466 for your 500T like a shot. That 500 turbo does not have a great reputation for reliability but it is much more powerful than the 466. I'd definitely sort the exhaust and keep the turbo; it's not a huge job compared with swapping the engine out.

Does anyone happen to know the torque setting needed for fitting the clutch cover to a Bedford 466 engine with a 14" clutch.

Any ideas why my 466 engine would have been fitted with a 3-terminal oil pressure switch? I'm guessing it is a changeover switch with NO/C/NC but what was it used for? The wiring loom only appears to connect to the centre terminal and the wiring to the other two seems to have been added later.

Mystery parts

Any one recognise these?

I know they look like mudflaps but I can't see how they fit back on and I'm beginning to wonder whether they are not TK parts at all. The metal brackets you see form a three pointed star and all four mounting points (there is one in the middle) are in different planes. One mounting point bolts through the rubber. I'm puzzled!

I wonder if they are TJ parts that I've gained by mistake.

I don't recognise these parts.

Bedford TK mudflaps.

Turns out they go on the rear of the engine side covers. Not sure of their purpose though since there is a full steel mudguard beneath them
