On the ones I drove, I'm sure the handbrake valve was outboard of the driver's seat. Between it and the door. Also, the dash doesn't look familiar.

dekkman's Terrier is an early model based on the updated FJ 'Pilot' cab, not the G cab (which yours was).

1975 was the changeover, and dekkman's is 1971 vintage.

Sounds about right to me . . .

You would find that there would be several tyre options available to the original customer, some of which would affect the permissible axle loads (up or down from standard).

Settle for what you can get hold of easily.

Best wishes with your restoration - keep us informed of your progress!

First place would be a breakers yard - there must be at least one near you.

If you need help, try searching on eBay, or:-

http://www.buyyourvan.co.uk/van-part...part/handbrake

or:- http://stores.ebay.co.uk/vintagevehi...=p4634.c0.m322

You will need the Chassis number for positive identification. This might be on the doorframe.

Old vehicles often end up being used by 'travellers', often as living vans.

If you have a site near you, ask them what they do for spares.

Glad to be of help, Louise.

There were more addresses, but you can probably search for yourself using 'Leyland Terrier Ireland breakers'.

I was wondering if, the valve from a Leyland Roadrunner might fit. It might be worth the cost of a call, to a DAF dealer, as it might give more options.
