Bedford TK570....

Even all, just found the forum so thought I'd join up

Just got my hands on an 1984 TK570
Took delivery of it today...she needs work plenty of it!

Aim is to get her up and running and moving before I strip it down for welding etc

She's a 3.6 diesel 4 speed box...I think

Is there a nack to starting these...? Going to get a new battery and some fresh fuel and see how it goes

Any help/advise would be great?

Jay

Hi Jay there is a cold start button you can push in on the pump that certainly helps my 220 start from cold usually on the first turn.If it's not used then it would normally take 4/5 turns before it bursts into life.

Hi mate, thanks for the reply
Will have to look into that cold start button
I couldn't get it going unless i gave it the tidiest bit of easystart
Which obviously isn't good so need to look into it
There's a button in the middle of the seats is that the cold start button?

Near the STOP pull?
If so, then yes! Push and hold it for a count of 10-20 (depending on how cold). Then, turn her over.

Jay l don't have a button next to my engine pull/stop(strangler),the button l am talking about is on the small lever arm on the injection pump just push it in and once it starts it automatically jumps back out.Hope this makes it a bit clearer.
Cheers Tommy
