Another new member.

Hi Guys,

I was previously completely unaware of the Truck and Bus Forum and only came across it by accident while 'sniffing' around for info regarding a brake problem I'm having with my 1968 TK and I'm gutted to think of all the hours I've wasted over the years reading 'nonsense' in an attempt to keep myself occupied through the wee small hours when I could have been reading something as interesting and informative as this forum.

The first thread I came across was one regarding a brake problem 'MazTalks' was having with her TK and I found the information posted by G-CPTN excellent, so thank you very much for that G-C.

Regards,

John.

I spent a significant part of my working life designing brakes for Bedford Trucks (after an even more significant period as a vehicle test engineer where I had to deal with brakes and their malfunctions).

Later, I 'crossed the table' and worked for a company who manufactured brake linings (which involved being involved with vehicle manufacturers testing the linings). We were pioneers in the use of non-asbestos materials and I oversaw the introduction of non-asbestos (sintered) linings on fleet tests.

I saw the very early introduction of disc brakes as prototypes, but have no significant experience of disc brakes on production trucks. A whole new subject:-

Apart from the basics, none of my years of experience are relevant with current new trucks . . .
