There's a definite attraction for things that were around when we were young.
Most young people notice more detail (without necessarily studying it) especially if they are 'interested' in the subject.

I know I can recognise all sorts of vehicles that were current when I was a youngster. I can also 'differentiate' - ie spot differences - on such, whereas I struggle with modern models to identify from the (apparently) subtle differences. This applies to things like aircraft, too . . .

silent majority & recognition

hi G-CPTN there was i thinking it was me mainly on my own buses don't even have a radiator cap or even a badge proclaiming a model, are they so afraid of recognition? or is it i don't see it? whatever it is as buses go the 1/2 cab with an red indian full feathered chief was the way to travel to school no doors & no worries maybe t.o.m. in the cab & my busfare still in the pocket a wink off the conductor a smile a mile wide maybe school wasn't going to be too bad that day geof the darloboy

I have signed up to Birdforum - Railway - World Photography - Aviation - Forums, but this is the one I visit most often.
