Overloading Offence

An operator was ordered to pay fines and costs of £400 for an overloading offence after magistrates rejected a defence that the haulier, although guilty, was morally blameless because maintenance contractors had caused the problem.

Trucks suspected of being overweight here get pulled over on a weighbridge. Yet through the night very heavy stuff comes down the highway. heavey enough to wake us up as the bed shakes. And these have crossed several weight restricted bridges too!
Never a copper about at night is there!
