Dangerous Goods
A Polish driver who boarded a cross-Channel ferry and failed to declare dangerous goods has been fined £2,000 and was ordered to pay £3,757.98 in costs after pleading guilty at Folkestone Magistrates court last week.
In November the driver boarded a SeaFrance ferry in Calais which had 228 people on board. His truck was carrying 338kg of methyl methacrylate monomer, stabilised, which he intended to take through Dover.
