So who didn't take the registration of the car and name and address of the cyclist?

I have always said that if anything like that was to happen to me and the Emergency Vehicle wasn't too badly damaged (and neither was I personally) then I would insist that the Emergency Vehicle carry on to their call.

Probably not allowed - leaving the scene etc etc
What happens if a casualty dies (has a heart attack)?

Many years ago a fire engine had a terrible crash in Maidstone en route to a fire, hitting a tree close to the roadside.Mostly manned I think by retained officers there was a fire and loss of life. Some chaps that I worked with survived. We owe them so much! Regards Alan

I remember once during the Firemans strike in the late 70's that a Green Goddess on way to an Emergency call crashed and rolled over in a garage forecourt and there was loss of life. The real sickening thing was that the call they were responding to was a hoax.:mad::mad::mad:

That's why, assuming the damage wasn't too bad, I would insist that the Emergency Vehicle carry on, it must still get to the incident a lot sooner than another dispatched Vehicle.
