Gardner V6 for sale.
 

Whilst surfing for information about Gardner engines (prompted by Ian's Gardner 100-engined ERF at the Rugby Truck Show) I came across a website advertising miscellaneous Gardner engines intended for miscellaneous uses, and amongst them was a Gardner V6!
Now my knowledge of Gardner engines isn't great (thus, I was surfing for information), but I've never heard of a Gardner V6 - least of all installed in a Bristol Lodekka (albeit now located in Stockholm, Sweden . . .
The whole (hole) vehicle is for sale, apparently in running order (complete with the V6 engine) with suggestions that the bus could be used as 'a commercial bomb'. The price of $50,000 US might seem steep, even given that the Lodekka looks to be in good condition.
I'm not touting this vehicle for sale, however, those that might be curious (and doubt my sanity) can see the evidence at:-

There you are, you have caught me out in a lie. Having said that, I am not sure that ABBA is a recocognised word, more an acronym, and as I was unaware that skol was swedish, maybe you will let me off. Ha ha.

Volvo AB was an offshoot of the Swedish ball-bearing manufacturer SKF (or Skefco) and the name was chosen to reflect the bearing business for a product that didn't materialise. When SKF started to produce vehicles (cars first, then trucks soon after) they used the name Volvo as the new company had already been formed (but was no longer needed).

And the very first car rolled out of the factory had the rear axle crown-wheel assembled the wrong way round and therefore had one forward gear and several reverse gears . . .

I think you deliberately set me up there with that Latin/ Swedish switch. You can be so devious.

Anyway, regarding the car, I think I bought it in 1980, it was a 244DL.
