Hello & Help please

Hi my name is Charlie, i am new to this forum and wondered if someone could help me please?

The misses has just bought herself a horsebox, its a Ford D Series 1981, good little lorry but needs a bit of TLC. I was wondering if any of you know where i can start looking for parts for these lorries?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers :)

Welcome, CharlieD. Pull up a floorboard and sit down.

Someone will be along soon with tales about D-Series Fords - I'm not a Ford man myself.

I'm sure that a good motor factor should be able to find most of what you need (at least the mechanical bits). Body parts might be a bit more problematical and you might need to visit breakers yards - I don't know how durable the D-series cabs are.

We've seen old vehicles that look almost like new as well as some held together by cobwebs. Maybe if you visit a rally where owners of old trucks gather you will find the necessary contacts - there is probably an enthusiasts club.

There's always ebay!
