Teardrop Trailers

UK Mail Group has taken a Don-Bur aerodynamic Teardrop trailer on a 12-month trial on a trunking route within its parcels network. The 13.6m tri-axle trailer features full wraparound aerodynamic skirts, and is made from Don-Bur's latest lightweight "Blade" compo-site panels.

It's all very well using the tear-drop in profile, but we still have a square planform. I realise that it isn't practical to have a teardrop planform, but maybe some clever aerodynamicist(s) can devise a solution?

Will we see side 'louvres'?
