Registered about a month ago but didn't introduce myself. My interest is probably at an earlier period than many on this forum - feedback will probably tell me otherwise having said that. I don't own a vehicle but have an interest in old buses, and Gilford in particular. My grandfather drove for the Oxford Bus Company in the mid to late '30's and then for Thames Valley until retirement. In the late twenties and early thirties, when Gilford were in High Wycombe he drove for them, hence my particular interest. My current involvement in vintage buses is trying to source spares and information to assist in some ongoing restorations along with trying to increase awareness of the type. One day it is my intention to take ownership of a vehicle from that timeframe - storage permitting.

Does anyone know anything about Abbott's in the context of fitting bodies to coaches. Whilst best known for cars, they did a number of buses and coaches in the 1929 to mid-thirties period. There is an Albion with an Abbott body at the SVBM, but no other survivors that I am aware of. My interest derives from my research into Gilford and I know they bodied them for Farnham Blue coaches and A Plott and J Goldman - Central London Motors.
