G,day Everybody, like my old shipmate Dave Wilcockson, I am a member of the wonderful Ships Nostalgia site. A few years ago, I had the seamans urge to travel again. No ships left nowdays, or none that I would want to sail on anyway, so, I decided to go trucking, in the USA. After a long time spent getting visa'a etc, (driving there can easily be done illegally, but I wasnt going that way) I finally ended up in Arkansas with a small/medium trucking company . Small meaning at that time they had 450 tractors and over a thousand trailers. Went back three times and worked with a great company there, CalArk, would go again tomorrow but I suspect that the years have caught up with me. When I read the journal I kept last time, the most common comment was "I'm getting to old for this!". Still had a great time though!

Greetings OZ, Glad to see another guy who drove in the US. I spent 10 yrs driving all 48 states for the third largest Moving Company at the time, Namely North American Van Lines. Between company drivers, agency drivers and owner operators we numbered about 6000 with up to 30000 trailers. When I get time I will put some photos up on the site. Regards Pat
