Hello everyone

I got 'pushed' into here from the Railway Forum. Now, don't think I'm being traitorous by saying this, but I like Trains AND Buses - I hope you can live with it!
I've been into buses since about 1968 and started my spotting days in/around Whitehaven. However, I've become increasingly annoyed with the changes that have happened in the bus industry. When the NBC instructed their component companies to paint their fleets in Poppy Red or Leaf Green, I went ballistic. However, when Thatcher sold off the fleets to Stagecoach, FirstBus, etc. that, for me, destroyed the Bus Industry as an item of interest. If I had my way, I'd nationalize every company that was sold off and put them all under local political control.
OK, sorry about that, but I'm incensed that something I've loved has been sacrificed on the altar of Capitalism. Rant over.
I'm interested in Bus preservation. I was briefly involved in preserving an ex-BMMO LD8 that is now at BAMMOT, somewhere south of Birmingham. I've got a list of vehicles that I'd like to see preserved - that'll appear elsewhere on this forum.
