Not being a lover of seatbelts, two case's pending as the police no longer use discretion, I must say that after our accident with the Discovery in April, the seatbelts without a shadow of doubt saved all of us from far more serious injury.

As a passenger, I once got T boned and rolled around inside of the BMC mini, if we had worn our seatbelts I would not be writing this now. The roof came right down through being rolled over 3 times. I walked away with a cut on my knee only.

A friend of mine left the road in a Cortina, badly; copper told him he was lucky he'd been wearing his belt, he hadn't been.

Well said! Afterall, who are they likely to hurt? Themselves maybe, whereas PROPER criminlas hurt others.

I agree, more effort should be put into finding and jailing people who make it their hobby of inflicting misery on others, but what do they do spend money on improved technology to catch motorists.

It's always easy to say that "They should chase proper criminals"
But... those are different department. The guys on the road are not the ones investigating murders.
I always wear seatbelt. Don't understand how someone can believe that it is better not to wear one when rolling over...
