At first I thought this was about the DD 16V engine.
I used to get to drive it when testing airfield crash tenders.

I shall spend some time reading the second article (I've got to pop out to the village shop first). Sounds like my kind of activity . . .

The DD-Series is Detroit's new Heavy Duty Engine Platform (HDEP) engine - they expect it to be fitted to Mercedes-Benz, Fuso and all DTNA brands!

It just landed in Oz, fitted to the new Freightliner Coronado!
